Relationship Counseling for Childfree Couples and singles + those who haven’t had kids yet.

What’s the deal with working with people without kids?

I could talk about this for days but I’ll keep it bulleted and I welcome you to bring this up in our consultation or during any of our weekly sessions.

First things first, let’s define “childfree” and “without kids.”

Childfree: Whether by choice or chance you don’t have kids now or ever. Some also use the term Childless.

Without Kids: You do not currently identify as being a parent to a tiny human. You may want to have kids in the future and/or you could be undecided/on the fence about kids.

I want to emphasize the unique benefits of our focus on couples and singles without children.

Here's why I believe this approach can be particularly valuable for you:

  • Deeper Understanding: By centering our discussions on you, I can delve deeper into the intricacies of your relationship patterns, needs, and way to create a foundation of healthy and happy living. We'll explore how factors like career aspirations, lifestyle choices, and personal goals influence your dynamics, allowing for a more profound understanding of your unique situation.

  • Avoiding Bias: Here, you'll find a safe and neutral environment where we can discuss your relationship without any biases related to parenting styles. This allows us to focus solely on you: relationship dynamics, core values, communication challenges, etc. ensuring that our conversations are free from any external influences.

  • Exploration of Individual Identities: Without the responsibilities of parenting, you have more space to focus on personal growth and self-discovery. Together, we'll explore your individual identities and aspirations within the context of your relationships, helping you both thrive as individuals and when partnered.

  • Preventative Approach: Our work together will focus on creating a foundation to make healthy and happy-making decisions for lasting fulfilling relationships. This is much more easily done when you’re able to do so when you’re not worried about how to raise or parent your children at the moment.

  • My personal limitations: I am childfree by choice and outside formal education, life as an aunt, and anecdotes by the parents in my life, I don't have personal experience with parenthood. While my education would be valuable, and it is not necessary to live the exact life as you, I believe it would be a disservice to you if I were to reach that far out of my expertise.

I'm here to support you every step of the way as we navigate these aspects of your relationship journey. Let's work together to create the healthy and happy relationships you deserve. And if you decide to have kids in the future, you’ll have this amazing foundation to build from helping to make parenthood that much more fulfilling for you.
